NOTES FROM THE FIELD:

The Clatterwink is a recently rediscovered faerie of the Auditory Mischief variety, once believed extinct, banished, or politely ignored. It is a nocturnal, invisible nuisance that delights in making sounds just plausible enough to blame on plumbing.

Typical manifestations include:

  • Random tapping in the walls (never rhythmic)
  • Faint whisper-laughter behind curtain rods
  • Creaks in the floorboards when absolutely no one is there
  • The sound of keys being dropped in rooms with no keys

Though rarely seen, the Clatterwink is often heard and even more often blamed.
